Spanaway, WA has a population of over 27,000 people in an unincorporated area of Pierce County near JBLM and Tacoma. Spanaway is a centrally located gateway city providing easy access south to the state capitol of Olympia, east to Joint Base Lewis McChord, north to the large employment, transportation, education, and culture centers of Tacoma, Auburn, Renton and Seattle. Mount Rainier National Park and Millersylvania State Park are nearby.
Joint Base Lewis McChord is a key US Military instillation as well as a major driver for economic growth in Spanaway. Comprised of the US Army’s Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base, JBLM is an important part of the Spanaway community.
